Resident Testimonials
"I was fortunate to have been able to transfer to Aultman Family Residency Program in my second year of residency. The faculty and staff were more than welcoming and accommodating. The whole process was made simple and easy. I feel the training I received at the program can rival any other across the nation and I feel confident in my abilities to provide evidence-based care to my patients. I think what separates this program from others is the faculty's keen interest in each individual resident, personally and professionally, helping them grow to their full potential."
Rajvir Singh, M.D. (2018 Graduate)
"My time at Aultman Family Medicine Residency was very rewarding. Residency is tough and a good support system is needed to get through it. The faculty and staff at Aultman provide avenues for growth, support and independence. You are challenged to think critically and psychosocially about patients and provide the best evidence-based care. I am humbled and honored to have worked with such esteemed individuals."
Emmanuel Otomewo, M.D. (2017 Graduate)
"I feel very lucky to have trained at the Aultman Family Medicine Residency. I was more than prepared for the ABFM board exam thanks to the outstanding teaching faculty and comprehensive academic curriculum. My 3 years of training built a strong foundation for my career as a Family Physician. I am also proud to say I made several lifelong friends throughout my time there!"
Casey Perkowski, M.D. (2015 Graduate)
"Our Family Medicine program at Aultman is amazing because we have such supportive faculty. It's truly a great group of people who make you feel like a part of their family. It's a wonderful place to learn and grow as a doctor."
Laura Kamcza, M.D. (2015 Graduate)
"I came to Aultman hospital because the Family Medicine Department was different than any of the other programs that I visited during the interview season. I was deeply impacted at the close and collegial atmosphere between faculty and residents and how the faculty were truly interested in not only your development in becoming an excellent family medicine physician, but genuinely interested in you as a person. Also the residents were some of the most friendly and down to earth people that I had come across. This is especially important as you will be spending a lot of time in the hospital working together as residents. This combination of great relationships simply cannot be replicated anywhere else. I have no concerns that after leaving Canton, Ohio I will be a capable and strong physician as the training that I received was excellent. I would highly recommend this program to anyone interested in family medicine and would not hesitate to choose this program again if I had to do it over."
Vernon Watty, M.D. (2014 Graduate)
"I had the misfortune of starting at a nearby residency program that shut down midway through my intern year. I came to visit Aultman at a time where my stress and mistrust of the residency system was at its highest and was immediately disarmed by the support and genuine integrity of the faculty here. The FP program is made up of members that live to educate and value their residents. They welcomed me and incorporated me into their system in a way that wasn't expected or required, When it comes down to it, as long as you have the perseverance necessary, you can graduate with the necessary tools from any accredited residency program. But only some programs have the people that are necessary to make the journey enjoyable and help you strive to be a better doctor. Aultman's FP residency has those people."
Kerry Tedesco, D.O. (2012 Graduate)
"I chose the Aultman Family Medicine Program because of the strong, energetic and enthusiastic faculty. This program offers a professional work environment with a challenging and diverse patient population. The well-rounded curriculum provides for an effective and rewarding learning experience that includes many opportunities for personal growth and responsibility. Furthermore, the Canton area is safe and affordable. The surrounding communities combine beautiful residential areas with a business district to create an ideal environment for living and working. In addition, the school districts are excellent, and the community parks offer biking, hiking, swimming, team sports and golfing opportunities for everyone."
